Sitemap’s an XML file to lists the pages of your website that you want to make sure search engines reads quickly. Usually you want to make sure that the sitemap includes the mainly important pages of your website with the ones that have recently changed or been added.

One of the main advantages of Sitemap’s the fact that it can list all the URLs of your website, even those that aren’t able to be discovered by ordinary processes.
Another major cause that the use of a Sitemap is such a significant part of any set of SEO initiatives is the fact that you can really let the search engines know the main concern of the web pages that you want to see them. This allows them to place the website into a logical order when they are crawling its and this can lead to a superior ranking.
Risks of a Sitemap
It’s may be of interest for you to know that these Sitemaps contain a wealth of information about every aspects of your website and they cannot be restricted in their ability to be accessed. This means that all the information that is contained in the Sitemap can be accessed by any person. This includes you competitors. It’s sure that your competitors will find some of the information that your Sitemap contains to be of interest to them, especially the areas that are not publically accessible but that you want the search engine to index.
Creation of the Sitemap is also one of the main considerations that you have to keep in mind. The way that your Sitemap is created is the thing that can cripple its effectiveness. This is due to the fact that many times the programs that create the Sitemap for you may use an algorithm that may not be as effective as the ones that the search engine systems use when they send the spiders to crawl your site.
